Mr Hayman-Joyce has been engineer/manager for some 25 port, river
and coastal engineering projects throughout the world. He
has been responsible for all aspects from initial conception, feasibility
study, design, tender documentation, evaluation of tenders, and
supervision of construction.
He has had wide experience in the design
and supervision of construction of ports, including estuarial
ports where siltation has been an important factor.
Recent major port projects have included
the development of ports in Sudan, Panama, Peru and Ecuador.
River port projects have included ports in Peru, Sudan and Nicaragua.
He has studied river and associated siltation
and flooding problems at Harwich and Christchurch in the UK, and
siltation in estuaries and ports at Kings Lynn, in Ecuador and
He has designed shipping channels as part
of port projects in Belize, Panama and Ecuador.
Mr. Hayman-Joyce is a member of the Maritime
Group Committee, British Consultants Bureau, and also a member
of the Permanent International Association of Navigation Congresses
(PIANC), British Section.
Mr. Hayman-Joyce is familiar with
several languages, including English which is his native
language, Spanish which he can read fluently and write and speak
it well, French (reading-good, writing-fair, spoken-fair), Arabic
(spoken-basic), Italian (reading-good, writing-basic, spoken-basic).
